Favourite Dinner/Date Spots in London

Today I’m going to talk about my favourite date night restaurants in London, Ontario (my home city). This is by no means an exhaustive list, nor is it the “best” places in London, Ontario. They are, however, where you will often find me and the wifey on a date night.   

Earls - https://earls.ca/locations/london I love this place. I find the food to be high quality and fresh and the staff are very friendly. It’s a great spot for a date night or just to catch up with a group of friends. I also find it to be a great spot to bring my daughter, which is an added bonus.   

Nando’s- www.nandos.ca This is a unique chain out of Portugal. One thing you will learn about me is I love Europe! This is a different style than most chicken joints. It’s “fast-casual”. This means you place an order at the counter, pay and then the staff will serve you your food. This place specializes in peri-peri chicken. There is an awesome patio that gets lots of afternoon sun. It’s great for an afternoon date day or a pint on the patio.   

186 Sushi- www.168sushibuffet.com I love sushi, and this place has been a favourite of mine for years. I like the quality of the sushi bar and the weekend menu includes crab (yum!) I should really have bought stock in this company 😊 

Waldo’s on King- https://www.waldos.on.ca Another classic London establishment. I have enjoyed their creations for years, and I love the downtown location. The small patio is private yet romantic. This is a great date night place if you are looking for fine dining at a great value.  

Church Key- www.thechurchkey.ca This place is awesome and very hard to get in on a date night, so call ahead! They serve elegant but straightforward pub food with an upscale experience and friendly wait staff. I love the location and the extensive wine/beer list. Great for lunch and dinner. 

Tasting Room- www.thetastingroom.ca I cannot forget this place on this list! It’s been a London staple for years, if you haven’t tried the tapas-style menu, you are missing out. As I mentioned, I love Europe and Tapas (small shared plates). Whenever I eat out with my wife, we often order multiple appetizers and small dishes to share so that we can try a bit of everything. This is what the Tasting room is known for. Make sure to book ahead on date night!
